| Different
Types of Clothes: |
Women’s
style of clothing always changes each time a new trend
arrives. So, women must be aware of the latest trends
in fashion, including the current in-demand types of
dresses. They should know the difference between each
type of clothing and its usage. Some women don’t
know the proper business attires, church dresses, and
other dress codes for various occasions, so below are
the different types of dresses: |
|
| The Shirt Dress: |
This
has sleeves, a shirt collar, and a button-down bodice.
Its bodice is attached to the skirt and usually has
a self-belt or any feature that will separate the bodice
and the skirt. Skirt dresses became popular in the 1950s.
Later on, slightly below-the-knee-length and full knee-length
skirts were introduced. The current shirt dresses have
no crinoline. Women use shirt dresses as church wears
or business attires. They usually wear a shirt dress
with a scarf or pearls to emphasize the clothing’s
classic appeal. |
| The
Sheath Dress: |
This
type of dress is form-fitting and is usually strapless
or sleeveless. This traditionally extends just above
the knee. The sheath dress is among the most flexible
dress, thus, it is ideal for various daytime and evening
occasions. If you want to look best, wear black sheath
dress and match it up with elbow-length gloves and oversized
pearls. |
| The
Sundress: |
Young
ladies look lovable in sundress, a type of dress that
usually comes in bright colors and summer-weight cotton
with floral patterns. The common identifiers of this
dress are halter, thin, or spaghetti-style strap tops.
The sundresses are usually worn by when going downtown
for lunch or shopping. There are also women who use
sundresses when going to beaches. Women should avoid
too much accessories to emphasize the carefree and playful
nature of the sundress. |

| The
Wrap Dress: |
| This type of dress flatters almost
all types of body type. This is a bit similar to shirt dress,
but the wrap dress has skirt affixed to a wrap-style top. Women
usually use sash as the wrap. They pull the sash to the side
of the dress, wrap around their waist, and tie it at the center
of their torso. The wrap dress creates an elegant look and flatters
every part woman’s body. Mock wrap dresses look great
and usually worn as office attire. |
| The
Maxi Dress: |
This
type of dress has been introduced in the late 1960s and gained
its popularity in the 1970s. Its top is quite similar to a
sundress with halter or spaghetti strap top. The maxi dress
usually extends from below the bust down to the floor. In
1970s, the maxi dresses have ruffles at the bottom. These
are more casual and look ideal for everyday clothing. |
